(AGI) Rome, May 19 - Italian power company Enel has entered the retail market in South Africa with an innovative solution offered by the controlled company Enel Energy South Africa (EESA). The product, called YouPower, is a turnkey solution for businesses and household clients. It combines solar panels, inverters and lithium ion batteries to supply uninterrupted power in a country where the energy demand is higher than the supply, imposing programmed black-outs. The YouPower products are characterised by an innovative technological platform which gives access to digital energy services. The platform offers an 'energy management' system providing clients with the possibility of managing production flows and electric consumption. It integrates further digital services, such as home automation or 'domotics', to improve the household consumption and management experience. "We are happy to offer our South African clients an innovative solution which will bring significant benefits to their daily living. Our entry in the South African retail market is a sign of further progress in enhancing the presence of the group in the country," said Francesco Veturini, head of Enel's renewable energy division. "The technology we offer enables consumers to control their energy consumption, tapping a stable renewable source. It is yet another sign of progress towards the digitalisation of the consumption experience, opening a large number of possibilities beyond the energy sector," Mr Venturini explained. (AGI). .
