Economists in Rome discuss a more human economic system
Angus Deaton

(AGI) Rome, Sept 21 - International economists have gathered in Rome to discuss a more inclusive, human, and fair economy. The Italian Embassy to the Holy See hosted the event in Borromeo Palace this morning, where Angus Deaton, winner of Nobel Prize for Economics in 2015, Jean-Paul Fitoussi, and Dominique van der Mensbrugghe will comment on the global challenge posed by growing economic and social inequality. The aim of the meeting is to encourage reflection on a concrete proposal that can offer the bases of effective actions in line with both the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the encyclicals "Caritas in Veritate" by Benedict XVI and "Laudato Si'" by Pope Francis.
