Contrasto Armonico ensemble to play at Jaroslaw Festival

(AGI) Krakow, Aug 26 - The Contrasto Armonico opera ensemble will perform at the Kolegiata Bozego Ciala in Jaroslaw, Poland, on Saturday as part of the city's Early Music Festival. The ensemble comprises Marcel Beekman, Beatrice Palumbo, Maria Skiba, Mitchell Sandler, Andrzej Marusiak, Artur Janda, Monika Horodek and Mario Lerchenberger and is conducted by Marco Vitale. They will perform Claudio Monteverdi's opera "La favola d'Orfeo", with a libretto by Alessandro Striggio. Likewise on Saturday, Capella Cracoviensis will perform the Beethoven marathon "Beethoven Extreme" in Krakow's ICE Congress Centre. The performance will feature soprano Malgorzata Rodek, contralto Elzbieta Wroblewska, tenor Andrzej Lampert and bass Sebastian Szumski and conductors Paul Goodwin, Christophe Rousset, Eivind Gullberg Jensen, Evelino Pido and Jan Tomasz Adamus.
