(AGI) Catanzaro, Oct 18 - Food products from Calabria are out to conquer the world. This is the goal of the Calabria Region, which is currently participating in the SIAL Paris, International Food Exhibition. Sixteen companies from Calabria are displaying their products in the institutional areas of the event, hosted in the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition area and which runs till Thursday. The numerous visitors, mostly professional buyers form the four corners of the world, will be able to appreciate the region's extravirgin olive oil, which will be presented in many versions, differently flavoured and spread on bread. There will also be IGT wines, traditional bergamot specialties, drinks and a large selection of traditional preserves. The presence of the Calabria Region at the world''s largest food innovation exhibition is of great importance, as it shows the new trends characterizing the sector in the future. SIAL 2016 is an international showcase where Calabria, with its excellent products rooted in the land and its history, can make itself known in the world. Starting from the agrifood sector, Calabria is determined to reach out to the world, further developing existing business contacts and stepping into new markets. "Our presence at Paris SIAL 2016 is a stepping stone towards the realization of our ultimate goal - the spread of our quality food in all households in the world, as well as promoting our Region as a whole. Opportunities such as this allow us to strengthen our competitiveness and productivity on world markets while at the same time supporting and encouraging above all our SMEs (small-to-medium sized enterprises). Making a network between themselves and working with the region, these SMEs can acquire strength and visibility.
