(AGI) Rome, June 3 - A treaty against illegal trafficking of animals has been signed by Italy's national airline Alitalia and four other Etihad Airways partners. The Buckingham Palace Declaration is an important step forward in the fight against the illegal trafficking of protected species and protecting fauna. The declaration of the United for Wildlife International Taskforce on the Transportation of Illegal Wildlife Products was signed by Alitalia CEO Cramer Ball and by Air Berlin, Air Serbia, Air Seychelles and Virgin Australia at the annual International Air Transport Association meeting in Dublin. The association at its AGM unanimously approved a resolution denouncing the illegal trade in wildlife and wildlife products, and pledged to cooperate with governmental authorities and conservation organisations in the fight against traffickers of animals in danger of extinction. Jet Airways signed the declaration in April during a visit to India by Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. (AGI). .
